The Three Sided Brain

The get er done, nose to the grind stone Left Side Brain Guy inside who is large and in charge at the bike shop does not network well the other guys who hang out riding the pine and waiting their turn.

There's creative, random loose dog Right Side Brain Guy wanting to fly fancy free.   He's in charge of setting our mind free, unhooking the leash, and giving our creativity a good goose.  When he's out and about, where we end up is always in doubt.

And thankfully, or maybe just by default,  in charge of locating some balance,  of course Fence Sittin Brain Guy hovers in the middle, his grip tenuously holding on right and left.  A path of least resistance kinda guy, he'd rather be stretched out on hammock or couch ideally with a remote and beer close at hand.

The three of them are more often than not at odds and not in sync.  For any of them to make an impact, it takes at least a team of two, sometimes all three.

When all three want front row and center and none of them will back down, it's a three for all, every man for himself.  Those moments can become quite frantic, mildly manic, everybody speaking at once and together, till they top out near the din of a small stadium.  It can get down right ugly in there.  "Quiet down guys.  One at a time ferchrisakes!"

Yeah, as soon as I begin thinking numbers, dollars, and calendars, Creative brain Guy begins to sulk and mope in the corner.  Shuts right down.  Or tries to anyway.  Some days I can kick him in the butt enough to help get creative with dollars, numbers, and calendars.  But I would say Creative guy doesn't think much of Get er done guy's anal retentive ways.  And always having their back, Mr Natural in the middle's insisting it don't matter, get it done, don't get it done, bottom line is tomorrow waking up again.

Keep it 'tween the ditches...........................

I hope this doesn't mean that you end up punching yourself.

All well and good when you have something to get done. Not so much when you don't. So for you I guess it's feast or famine steak or hot dogs and not to forget the beer either way.

I have left side, right side and wife side. It is usually the wife side that pulls in the reins.

Ah, but just wait (or have fence sitter do it) until the forth side develops. You've heard from it, you just haven't recognized it as distinct from the others. It's what you think is the others cooperating on rare occasion. It's not them though, it's the fourth side standing up and strutting. Intellect.

Randal - No. I am more of a head bangin kinda guy. No sense hurting my hands pounding on such a dense object.

Demeur - Most days I have to settle for a bottle of pop.

YELOOWGOG GRANNY - Not as often as I should.

Blog Fodder - I guess you don't much of a problem resolving conflicts then.

Ol'Buzzard - Yeah well, I've got the wife too. But she don't use no reins. She's gotta whip.

1138 - Intellect huh? I wondered who was missing.

I guess the third side of my brain is what would be seen as the neutral zone. Or whatever in the fuck that zone between two battles is.

The demilitarized zone?
