Imagined Slights - Retrospective Remorse

Six Lines - Fiction

In retrospect I probably should have taken a deep breath first I guess.

In retrospect, leaving the knife at home would have been the smart thing to do.

In retrospect, the toll I am paying for that moment of violent pleasure somehow does not seem worth it now.

In retrospect, throwing myself on the mercy of the court was not my best move.

In retrospect, all my whimpering, simpering hysterics as they led me to the doom room just made my last moments on Earth a comedy I could not enjoy.

In retrospect, wearing clean underwear didn't matter once that first jolt of electricity ran through my body.

Yes, I know I'm not supposed to be about. My mother-in-law has got a laptop and it seems I'm addicted.
Just on my way out for beer but thought I'd get a quick update.

Very good stuff. Have you looked at 6 senteces site. That was a pretty cool first short, short.

Regards mate, David.

Who was it that said "I got my mother-in-law a new chair, but my wife won't let me plug it in"????

Great story, and I was fascinated to hear the other day that a condemned prisoner's last meal here in South Carolina has to be under $20. Sort a last insult, being forced to the menu of Applebees or Denny's.

Sorry for the delete.
Wrong profile. Oh my... :P

Anyhow,...
great story.
Short and sweet. Hindsight really is 20/20, as they say.

In retrospect, just think of the tasty smokehouse meal you'll make for the first wave of cannibals after the collapse of civilization.

Six lines is a tough limit, but you made it work.

David - Well I will just pretend you aren't here. I hope you didn't just snatch the lap top out of the hands of an elderly lady. Unless of course you two don't get along. Then I guess it's alright.

I've entered 6s before. Maybe I will with this one, maybe not. But thanks for the thumb's up.

Kulkiri - I may have, but I wouldn't let my wife plug it in. Boy there was some tension between my mom and well, just about everybody.

Beach Bum - Maine got smart and did away with the last meal entirely. But then they decided that it just wasn't fair and got rid of the death penalty to go along with it.

sunshine - So, you have an alter, alter ego kickin around also. Hmm.

Randal - If I do I hope the diners have some class and order a nice bordeaux to go with my liver. Or was that a Chianti....
