Instead of going right to the mainstream or even not so mainstream news sites for my morning news fix, I punched up some funny news links. The usual odd collection of dumb criminal stunts and silly pets doing silly things for silly humans greeted me as I sifted through the various sites that focus on the odd and funny truths that are scattered here and there among the normal bad news that seems our daily staple.
Not sure why, but I punched up the link "Weird Penis Roundup" . Immediately, I couldn't get past the headline - "Man cuts off own penis". An involuntary shudder ran through me as the little guy ran for cover. He still refuses to come out. I don't think he trusts me now.
A woman was convicted of murdering her boyfriend, yet it was the police who killed him. That one still has me scratching my head.
Willy Nelson has created a new political party. He calls it the Teapot Party. Its goal is to legalize Doober, Mary Jane, Herb. Apparently he came up with the idea while sitting in stir after he was busted for pot possession in Texas. Set up a Facebook page and over 50,000 people have punched their "like it" button. He's facing a possible 180 days in jail after border patrol cops stopped him 100 miles from the Mexican border at an "alien checkpoint". .................Hmm. And people think the cops won't abuse their authority when given the chance.
I reached my limit when I got to all the bestiality stories. I had to bail back to the safe and predictable stories of countries being over run, climatic disasters, dirty politics of lying leaders, and crimes I could get my head around without flinching. Suddenly all was right with the World again. Hopefully the images I conjured up during this trip through the world of the bizarre do not stick with me like the images burned into my corneas when I once made the mistake of visiting the Execution video websites.

PresterJohn - Hey fella, long time. Glad you are still swingin by on occasion.
Cabin Fever? Well it is almost February. But if truth be told, I am handling it beeter this year than I have in a long time.
Here in Acton we have the same Crackpots showing up and now I can tune in on the tube to the madness. It's a real hoot.
If they made pot legal and turned loose all those in prison for pot, we'd have a lot of empty prisons. Then they could bust and convict the white-collar crooks that destroyed the economy.
I guess that's my pipe dream!!
Thanks for the Teapot party link. I am all for it. Never touched it and likely never will but it is stupid to have something less harmful than alcohol illegal.
Kulkiri - Ah, but too many depend on their existence to cut their own throats by dicrimialize pot anytime soon. Way too many legal fingers getting a piece of this pie.
Blog Fodder - Stupid from a social cultural standpoint, but not stupid when looking at the bottom line on either side of legal. It seems only the users want it legalized.
I see someone wants a nation of crack, coke & H-heads.
Willie Nelson's pot bust had a comparable incident in northern Washington about 2 years ago. Like you said, the "Border" Patrol (not very aptly named) has jurisdiction within 100 miles of the border. At one of their checkpoints, they caught a disabled Vietnam veteran with some medical marijuana. It's legal in Washington, but since the Border Patrol is federal -- he was busted. A federal judge threw out the case and instructed the Border Patrol to quit wasting his time with trivial cases like this. The arresting Border Patrol agent had a hissy fit (well publicized in our local paper).
As usual, the local rightwing "limited government!" teajobs had absolutely no problem with a disabled medical marijuana patient being arrested. "Federal law overrides state law. What's the problem?" "Hey, when the Border Patrol stops you, you sit there with both hands on the wheel, answer every question with Yes Sir, No Sir, and if you have nothing to hide you'll be on your way in just a few minutes."
Legalize doobage? Sure. Cthulhu's return will be much easier on y'all if you're baked.

Its a strange paradox but its the God's honest truth. Its part of the reason I think so little of modern society.
Meant to include that when you looking into the antics of someone like "Snooki" and her friends you come away thinking Western Civilization is going to fall quick and hard.
Randal - Is it a case of "want" or more that it is "needed".
Tom Harper - I'm actually pleased with how that case in Washington played out. Kind of rekindles my hope that all is not lost. A federal Judge did toss out the case. And an uptight Federal agent had a bad day. Excellent.
I just love how the small minded "limited government" folks who whine about the loss of states rights have no problem invoking the Federal take when it suits their purpose. What a bunch of hypocritical maroons.
Chef Cthulhu - Everything's easier when you are baked. Or so I'm told.
Beach Bum - Yeah, sometimes I wish I had not looked. But then I know I won't be wasting time there anymore.
