We are now early into the next winter storm in line that has dumped snow starting 2000 miles ago out Nebrasca-homa west of here where the flakes go horizontal in a heart beat. We are in the band marked down on the Channel 6 weather map for 11" to 14" of the white shit. North of us Downeast Maine and Up Country will see less. Of course the mountains that need the snow to keep all the crazed skiers happy will not be getting their fair share.
From the looks of things out there and all things being equal, I am happy I don't have to be out in it today. Seems to be about an inch and hour. The plows are keeping up so far, but we are just getting started.
Gotta love Winter in Maine.
Stay warm....................................................

No snow here so far this year, that makes two years in a row. But we still like to bitch when it gets down to 25 degrees, or rains.
What BBC said (we live in the same town). We're supposed to be facing a water shortage this summer because of not enough snow, and the rest of the country is covered with snow and ice.
They always say we are facing a water shortage here but we have plenty of water, a hell of a lot more than a lot of places.
Hear in the western Maine mountains, a few miles north of you, we have already exceeded the six to ten inches forecast, and the snow is suppose to continue until midnight.
I love it. It is the spring mud season and summer bug season I tolerate.
the Ol'Buzzard.
BBC & Tom Harper - The West Coast has probably the most unreliable weather in this country. Feast or famine for you guys it seems.
One thing Maine gets plenty of every yearis precipitation. Either the wet kind or the white kind.
BBC - I am guessing you folks sit on more water as a rule than south of you.
Ol'Buzzard - I just came in from blowing out the ends of the driveway for the second time today. Trying to stay ahead of it. At this point (5:00 PM or so) we have about 12 inches on the ground. Glad I blew out the ends of the drive twice. My neighbors are going to be bumming in the morning.
We get plenty of rain here, I can get all the water I need just off of my roofs.
This place is known as WHERE THE MOUNTAINS MEET THE SEA. Even if we don't get the snow pack up there some think we should get there is still plenty of rain through the summer to keep all the rivers and creeks flowing at decent levels.
Hell, we live next door to a rain forest.
We get around 20 inches of rain a year, Forks, about 50 miles away, gets over 100 inches. The officials here are just stupid.
That storm went way to the south of us again. That's OK, we got enough snow already. About 3 feet or more on the ground now. All in all, this has been a more normal winter then the previous ones in the last decade.
Wouldn't mind if it warmed up a bit. The other day it got up in the 20s and damn near went nuts it felt so good!!(Got my Jeep plowtruck fixed tho!!) Now it's back to single digits during the day and below zero at night.
