Had I bothered to check, I am sure my decision to once again visit and interact in the blogosphere would have gone against the better judgement of someone out there in the Internet ether. I know I cannot count on my own better judgement as it it has been MIA since the day in 1969 when Snake and I dropped 3 Orange Barrels each and didn't step back into Reality for the next 48 hours.
Regardless, I did wander back. Life out here in WWW hasn't changed much. More gadgets maybe, but the mentality is about the same. Nice people, angry people and clueless people all interacting under aliases so that no one knows what is really going on behind those blue eyes. Sorta like the real world but with less civility. As my mom used to say, "There is nothing new under the Sun".
No Mom, there is not. Not even the Internet.

I don't use an alias, I'm just who I am.
HAHAHAHA...
Never felt the need for an alias either. The closest I've come to a pseudonym was shortening Nancy to Nan.
Considering how many crazies and cranks are wandering around out in the real world, is it really any surprise the Internet has an abundance of odd personalities too? IMHO, it's the pseudonyms that lead to a lot of the incivility. It's a lot easier to be a jerk if no one knows who you are.
Just because you are paranoid; doesn't mean they are not out to get you.

We have all have too much information out there: why feed the trolls?
the Ol'Buzzard
BBC - Love the link to that image. Made me laugh out loud.
Nan - Maybe that is why I use my own name. Keeps me from being the jerk I know I am capable of being.
Ol'Buzzard - Somebody's gotta feed em.
To All - I never once used a fake name either. MRMacrum is my first 2 initial and my last name. I also go by Crum, Crummy, and CrumBum - all nicknames I have had in the past, present and future.
