I never meant to be away as long as I have. It just sort of happened. I had to make room for the extra time and energy I was beginning to pour into other facets of my life - you know, family, work, yard, riding, more healthy endeavors than sitting in front of this computer. That's how it started and before I knew what was happening, I was not even turning the computer on unless it was bike shop related. The blog became a guilty thought I began to file with the other guilty thoughts I carry as baggage from 60 years on the planet.
Besides, all the madness happening outside my small world was driving me bonkers. Idiots deluding large crowds of more idiots with promises that Life can return to what we thought it once was because now we conveniently forget the ugliness that wrapped the pleasant moments we have pushed to the top of our memories. Turning back the clock is a fool's errand and oftentimes seems to add to the decay instead of turning it around.
I was not sure what to write after so long an absence, but at least I wrote something. I won't promise to be back soon, but I will try to once again make this blog part of my daily life. I truly do enjoy the process of writing.
Later.................................

Getting away from the computer sounds like a grand idea to me. I need to do it myself and will soon I hope. Good to hear from you even if you don't have anything to say.

Glad to see you are still alive, Mike. Sometimes when people are away a while, it causes me to wonder. Not sure if you knew this or not, but unfortunately Eric Valentine passed away. I know he has commented here sometimes.

Welcome back - missed you.

A fool's errand? Fine, you're not getting a ride in my time machine.
Were you riding in Randal's time machine?? That would explain the time gap.
I am trying to wean my self away from the computer..slowly but surely.
enjoy yourself. Have a beer....or four.
Turning back the clock is a fool's errand...
Na, you just turn off the computer and go back to a real life.
Glad you posted something here and that you are well... enjoying time away from the computer. Always a good thing.
On the bright side that tells me that things are going well at the bike shop or at the very least something is going. As the Norwegians say "make hay while the sun shines." We'll catch you in the dead of winter when things slow down.
No shit, I was worried. I emailed you to see if you were alive and got no response. I found your bike shop phone number and was going to call if you didn't show up eventually. I hoped it was just as you wrote here that you were taking a break and paying attention to more important things.
