He was saying, "I just got done shoveling 8 inches of scattered flurries out of my driveway."

Twenty years ago when we lived in Blacksburg, VA we had a snowstorm that dumped a foot or more on us. I was looking out the window and laughing at the low-rider pickup trying to get out of the parking lot. It was lowered and had skinny tires on wide wheels to make it even lower and still be legal. Anywho, I laughed until it got stuck in front of my truck and blocked me in. Luckily I didn't have to go anywhere.Kulkurihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09198195648066700925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9728880.post-68230473124461150902009-12-20T20:10:38.874-05:002009-12-20T20:10:38.874-05:00Still just raining here, and nothing but rain expe...Still just raining here, and nothing but rain expected for the week. We don't get much snow here and when we do it doesn't last long. Still, I'm making a plow for the riding mower.

I'm old enough now that I don't care to deal with snow and when it does snow here I just stick to home, there's nothing that needs to be done so badly that it won't wait a few days or a week.

If we get three or four inches of it that's enough for me to squirrel around in an empty parking lot to keep my skills as sharp as I can, ha ha ha ha

Well, what can I say, enjoy the snow.BBChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15323188240580782454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9728880.post-18873331102786601572009-12-20T15:49:40.143-05:002009-12-20T15:49:40.143-05:00It's snowing here too.

Several years ago when Jim Hodges was governor of South Carolina snow became a reelection issue.

During a South Carolina "snow storm", less than an inch of snow of on the ground, the governor waited several hours before shutting down the state government and sending the workers home. When he did he sent everyone home at the same time and not staggered which resulted in a huge traffic jam as everyone began their way home at the same time. Not just government workers but local businesses that use the state government alerts to send their people home as well.

It was so bad that schools and day cares had to stay open extra hours to wait for parents to pick up their kids.

By the time of the next election the republicans used it as symbolic of Hodges incompetence.Commander Zaiushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11000824454124236774noreply@blogger.com
