Think about the books I've read and loved. Think about how I can't wait to read some of the others. Comfort food for the soul, indeed.Carlitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03989683666319924460noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9728880.post-42493573698767513612009-01-09T17:33:00.000-05:002009-01-09T17:33:00.000-05:00Untill I started writing a blog, I read at least f...Untill I started writing a blog, I read at least five books a week. I have read so many books I used to see something that looked good, get fifty or a hundred pages into to it to finally realize I'd already read it.

When I moved out of the big house and into my cottage, I had to winnow the books to fit into the few bookcases I could squeeze into this small space. It was painful to leave behind so many great books, but now I have my best loved books surrounding me and a few I'm hoping to read once I find I can no longer write. Odd that I'm only able to do one or the other.Utah Savagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16385093247915560752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9728880.post-81374368748380425332009-01-09T12:55:00.000-05:002009-01-09T12:55:00.000-05:00I see by your photo we've read a lot of the same b...I see by your photo we've read a lot of the same books. Too bad I'm not working right now or I'd send you a bunch. My reading slowed after college. Now it's just technical manuals.Demeurhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01935263659097273535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9728880.post-4646694478158990652009-01-09T12:08:00.000-05:002009-01-09T12:08:00.000-05:00I'll die with this stack of old Mother Earth News ...I'll die with this stack of old Mother Earth News mags still here, I still go through them every so often, they are like bibles to me.BBChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15323188240580782454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9728880.post-21278778422279165552009-01-09T12:06:00.000-05:002009-01-09T12:06:00.000-05:00I go to the library, mostly just read there. There is just something about the warmth a book that a computer can't replace.

I always told my students that when I taught a computer class at the library.BBChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15323188240580782454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9728880.post-21448635674389535342009-01-09T10:51:00.000-05:002009-01-09T10:51:00.000-05:00Given that I work in a library, I don't have to wo...Given that I work in a library, I don't have to worry about books ceasing to be an eternal presence, but like you, I certainly haven't read all the books that I own.

They truly are akin to a security blanket or a photo album; as long as they're there, all is right with the world.

Magazines and intertubes be damned, there's nothing like reading a good book.Randal Graveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08728992897551848531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9728880.post-76410173538358038642009-01-08T23:07:00.000-05:002009-01-08T23:07:00.000-05:00Love books. I've started going back and the books I pick up just fulfill me. I missed it and didn't even know it. Books are the best thing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
